  • Risk Management

    The Risk Management Unit is responsible for reducing the frequency of preventable accidents, minimizing the CDC’s loss of resources and controlling liability costs. 

    Risk Management oversees efforts to create and maintain a peaceful and safe environment for employees and visitors through administration of the following programs:
      

    * Safety and Security Programs;
    * Insurance and Contracting Programs;
    * Special Events;
    * Americans with Disabilities Act Awareness and Compliance;
    * Legal Exposure Reduction;
    * Workers’ Compensation Programs; and
    * Employee Safety and Awareness Training.

  • Legal Requests

    Legal Requests (Subpoenas)

    Subpoenas shall be served at 700 West Main Street, Alhambra, CA 91801, and delivered in person.

    Subpoenas and legal document requests shall include a Notice to Consumer and shall be directed to the attention of Risk Management.

    Site offices other than the address noted above are prohibited from accepting subpoena and legal document requests.

    Legal Request Fees:

    Subpoenas and legal document requests shall include:

    Document Copy Fee: A check or money order in the amount of $15

    Deposition or Appearance Fee: A check or money order in the amount of $35
    No cash will be accepted.  Payments shall be made payable to:

    Housing Authority of the County of Los Angeles  

    or

    Community Development Commission of the County of Los Angeles

  • Claims for Damages

    Claims for Damage to Person or Property
      
    If you feel that you have suffered an injury, personal damage, property damage or loss arising from activities generated by the Housing Authority of the County of Los Angeles or the Community Development Commission of the County of Los Angeles, you may file a Claim for Damages to Person or Property by submitting a Claim form to:

    If you are uncertain as to whether or not your claim should be filed with our office you may contact Julliette Larin, Risk Analyst at (626) 586-1695 for assistance.

    Please Note: Filing a claim directly with the County Board of Supervisor’s office does not comply with the above required Claims Filing Process for the Housing Authority/Commission. You must send your claim to the above referenced address for processing.
     
    Claims for death, injury to person or to personal property must be filed no later than 6 months after the occurrence. (Government Code Section 911.2)

    All other claims for damages must be filed no later than one year after the occurrence. (Government Code Section 911.2)
     
    Subject to certain exceptions, you have only six (6) months from the date of the written notice of rejection of your claim to file a court action. (Government Code Section 945.6)
     
    If written notice of rejection of your claim is not given, you have two (2) years from accrual of the cause of action to file a court action. (Government Code Section 945.6)

  • ADA Complaints

    Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) 
    The Community Development Commission / Housing Authority of the County of Los Angeles is a service animal friendly agency and does not discriminate on the basis of disability in employment or in the admission to, access to, or operations of programs, services or activities.
     

    ADA Grievance Procedure

    This Grievance Procedure is established to meet the requirements of the ADA. It may be used by anyone who wishes to file a complaint alleging discrimination on the basis of disability in employment practices and policies or the provision of services, activities, programs, or benefits provided by the Community Development Commission of the County of Los Angeles and the Housing Authority of the County of Los Angeles.

    Complaints should be submitted in writing and contain information about the alleged discrimination such as name, address, phone number of complainant, location of occurrence, date of occurrence, and a description of the problem. Alternative means of filing complaints, such as email delivery, personal interviews or a tape recording of the complaint will be made available for persons with disabilities upon request.

    Complaints should be submitted by the grievant and designee as soon as possible but no later 60 calendar days after the allege violation to. Complaints shall be delivered to:
