On April 15, 1997, the Board of Supervisors approved a three-party
agreement between the County of Los Angeles, the Community
Development Commission/Housing Authority, and the Association
of Trial Court Administrators, authorizing the Housing Authority
to administer the Traffic Violator School Monitoring Program
(TVSM).
The Traffic Violator School Monitoring Program currently monitors
telephone operations, classroom operations, business office
practices, and investigates consumer complaints regarding
traffic schools in Los Angeles County to ensure that the traffic
schools meet the applicable California Code of Regulations
concerning traffic safety. The TVSM unit currently is responsible
for monitoring 180 traffic violator schools and 22 home study
courses.
